Using the Lab

Reservations for research sessions, classes, meetings, workshops, and video wall presentations can be coordinated with DSL Support Manager Martin Gallagher by email or (321) 674-8638 or at the Library iDesk. 

VR and VR Creation Stations

Virtual Reality headsets and development stations are available for student use in the DSL upon demand. The DSL Lab Manager will explain how the equipment works prior to use.

  • Oculus unit for use of viewing projects being worked on

Video and Podcast Studio 

Reservations for the use of The Studio can be made at the iDesk. The DSL Lab Manager will explain how the equipment works prior to use, but the user will operate it using their own university login.

Video Wall

The 4’x10’ LED Panel Video Wall is available by reservation for classes as well as individual use. Contact the Lab Manager to coordinate. Walk-ins are possible if no reservations have been made.

Geographic Information Systems

 No reservation is required. Patrons can log in using their Tracks ID and password.

3D Scanning

The Artec™ Eva 3D optical scanner is an expensive piece of equipment. Students may use it in-house only. Faculty may check the scanner out for 7 days.

3D Printing

To submit a print job, complete the 3D Print Submission Form and email along with your .stl file to library-3Dprint@fit.edu
